There is a growing demand from GIS Scientists to keep up with new accomplishments in the GIS sector and its related, operational scientific fields. This is a great opportunity also for new GIS researchers to advance their knowledge and capabilities through new, interesting and innovative GIS topics and meet other scientists, academics and stakeholders within the GIS Science.

 One of the best way is to follow conferences on GIS throughout the world by enrolling to their newsletters or, just visit lists of conference's websites, where concentrated information and links exist on upcoming GIS conferences (listed chronologically) .

Two of the most prominent web-lists on upcoming GIS conferences are the following:
